The vast untouched regions of Siberia offer a unique travel experience for the genuine traveler. The scarcity of roads and railways means that the most common method of transportation is by river. The Lena, one of the mightiest rivers in the Russian Federation, flows from its source in the mountains near Lake Baikal through the Yakutia-Sakha Republic in north-east Siberia into the Arctic Ocean. In collaboration with our German colleagues, Messrs Lernidee, we have secured an allocation of cabins on their 14-day/13 night cruise tour on the m/s Mikhail Svetlov in 2021 and invite you to join us on this exciting voyage of discovery to one of the last remote, pristine and off-the-beaten-track regions of our planet.
Our tour departs South Africa on 18 July 2021 and flies on Emirates via Dubai to Moscow where one night will be spent with time for sightseeing this vibrant capital, before heading east to Yakutsk in Siberia.
We will have a day in Yakutsk where we will visit the informative Mammoth Museum (the only one in the world) and the Permafrost Institute.
The following day, we’ll board m/s Mikhail Svetlov for our cruise on the mighty Lena River. During this unique river cruise we will sail through unspoiled natural scenery taking a short detour to the Lena Pillars National Park before continuing downstream through changing landscapes and small settlements that are home to reindeer breeders to where the river meets the Arctic Ocean at the polar harbour of Tiksi. A comprehensive sightseeing programme for those craving a real Russian adventure is guaranteed.
The cruise returns to Yakutsk for our return flight to South Africa via Moscow and Dubai.
I will be leading the group from South Africa and professional English-speaking local guides will be escorting the group in Moscow and on our cruise. This will be a unique and unforgettable experience for every member of the group.
Please note that dates and costs at this stage are preliminary and only set one year prior to sailings. As soon as they are finalized, we will confirm with our guests.
As cabins on the cruise are limited, and under worldwide interest, the tour is limited to 20 participants. If you have any queries, or would like to secure your reservation or register your interest in this tour, please do not hesitate to contact me on telephone +27 (0)21 786-2598 or cell +27 (0)83 357 4855 or email firstname.lastname@example.org. I look forward to booking your place on this unique tour. It is imperative that we act quickly!
This is the journey of a lifetime and should not be missed.
