Our tour departs South Africa on 14 February and flies on Singapore Airlines to Manila where we spend two days exploring this vibrant city and its surrounds. From Manila the tour heads north through the dazzling 2000 year old rice terraces to Banaue where we have two nights.

From Banaue the itinerary proceeds to Baguio for a night visiting the picturesque town of Sagada en route. Here we will see the tribal communities, ancient burial caves and mummified coffins. Baguio is the gateway to the mighty Cordillera Mountain range and the scenery is spellbinding.

We’ll have a night in the charming Spanish colonial town of Vigan, designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1999 before returning to Manila to fly to Tagbilaran Island. Here we will visit the Bohol countryside, including visits to cultural and historical sites and continuing on through the Chocolate Hills, lush mahogany forests and cruising on the Loboc River. We’ll have two relaxing days at Bohol Beach before transferring by ferry to Cebu for a night in transit en route to Puerto Princesa on the island of Palawan. We’ll explore this beautiful island for two days and then ferry across to the picturesque private island of Dos Palmas for two relaxing days.

We return to Puerto Princesa for our return flight to Manila for onward connections to Singapore and South Africa.

Liz Cotton will be accompanying this tour from South Africa and we will be escorted by local English speaking guides.

Many wonderful beaches are just part of one of the world’s longest coastlines and it takes about three decades to visit and experience every island. Since Spanish colonial times, the country has been Asia’s largest Catholic country. Over a hundred ethnic groups, a mixture of foreign influences and a fusion of culture and arts have enhanced the uniqueness of the Filipino identity and the wonder that is the Philippines.

With so many islands and comparatively few visitors, the Philippines is one of the last great frontiers in Asian travel. Join us now before the world discovers this charming and fascinating country.
