We will be departing from cape Town on Sunday, 30 March and flying on Malaysia Airlines to Buenos Aires where we spend our first two nights before flying on to the picturesque little resort town of Bariloche in Patagonia. Here we will be spending two days exploring the area before commencing our trans Andes crossing into Chile.

This is a wonderful experience when we travel by boat over three lakes and by coach with an overnight stop at a delightful rustic hotel midway, surrounded by the Andes mountains.

The scenery is spectacular and on the second day of the crossing we pass close to the snow capped volcano Mount Osorno en route to Puerto Varas where we will spend the night at our hotel overlooking Lake Llanquihue.

The next day we will transfer to Puerto Montt for embarkation on Skorpios III which is comfortably built for cruising the fjords of Chile. The international cuisine includes a large range of sea foods including king crabs, oysters, salmon as well as the best cuts of Chilean beef. All this is accompanied by the best Chilean wines specially selected for Skorpios cruises (all included in the cruise cost!).

A fascinating 6 day voyage will take us through the calm waters of a labyrinth of spectacular channels and archipelagos of Patagonia in the south of Chile. Without doubt the San Rafael Glacier is a magical spectacle and sailing amongst the incredible icebergs of the wildest shapes is a most awesome experience. Passengers are taken in small boats close to the glacier face where the scenery will be toasted with 12 year old whiskey and million year old ice!

The cruise ends in Puerto Montt and from there we will be flying to Santiago, where we will spend two nights at the Grand Hyatt. A full day excursion has been arranged to visit the Vina Mar and Matetic wineries in the Casablanca valley and to continue on to Valparaiso for lunch.

Finally we fly back to South Africa via Buenos Aires on 13 April to arrive in Cape Town on 14 April
